In today’s ever changing world where security threats are often difficult to predict, advance warning is critical to military and civil defence. The WASP (Wide Area Security Platform) provides the key to ensuring intrusion threats are detected and communicated as early as possible in order that response teams may react without delay.
The WASP is a rapidly deployable radar based security system that provides intrusion detection, visual verification, annunciation and communication. It is easy to install and configure, can be rapidly deployed and is reusable.
In optimal conditions a single WASP system can detect and track multiple ground based intrusions over an area greater than 2km2 in all weather conditions night or day. WASP uses 360° ground based radar for detection of an intrusion, once a target is detected a track will be initiated.
Simultaneously as the track is plotted by the radar software the optical and thermal imaging cameras are automatically directed for visual verification, multiple intrusions are tracked with the optical sensors being directed on a time sharing basis. The radar has exceptional range resolution of just 25cm therefore enabling the user to accurately determine the number of targets approaching.
Meridian specialises in the provision of state of the art Mobile Command Centres and associated equipment for a variety of operational situations for use by day and night in all weather in both urban and rural areas and in all terrains.
Meridian is supported by 40 years of on the ground operational experience in a variety of operational theatres and by highly successful and competitive commercial expertise.
Systems can be fitted to a variety of platforms for use in sophisticated urban areas to rugged mountainous regions, including a variety of protected and unprotected vehicles including cars, vans, trucks and other specialist vehicles. The possible operational use varies from Public Order control, overt and covert surveillance, intercept and monitoring, incident control for use following both terrorist attacks, natural disasters, road, rail and air incidents, VVIP movement control and coordination of NBC / health related incidents.
Surveillance and other systems can be integrated within the command centre to provide an overall picture to the relevant commanders. Systems both technical and human can include:
